Preparing your drone

Tutorial one:

Do you have your PARROT BEBOP 2 in your hands? It's time to prepare for your first flight! Here are some tips for preparing to fly your drone the first time.

First of all, download the free FreeFlight Pro app from the App Store or Google Play. It is free and allows you to easily change the settings of your PARROT BEBOP 2 drone with your smartphone.

Your PARROT BEBOP 2 will be more efficient with a fully charged battery: it's very simple – just select the adapter for your socket and insert it on the transformer.

Then, connect the battery to the charger using the cable provided and connect the entire assembly to the mains power. A red light on the charger will switch on to indicate that charging is in progress. Charging takes about 55 minutes, so be patient and wait until the green light comes on!

Once the battery is charged, installation is a breeze. Slide the PARROT BEBOP 2 battery into position until you hear a "click". Make sure the lock on the back of the battery is in the down position.

To remove the battery from BEBOP 2, it's just as easy: hold the lock in the up position and slide the battery back.

To switch on your BEBOP 2, simply press the ON/OFF button on the back. When it starts up, the BEBOP 2 ON/OFF LED blinks while emitting a beep sound. Then, once switched on, the light of the drone remains red.

Fitting the propellers of the BEBOP 2

The most common mistake is to fit the BEBOP 2 propellers the wrong way round. To avoid this, fit the propellers with a hole in the middle on the motors with a protruding shaft (right front and left rear motors) while the propellers without a hole in the middle must be fitted to the motors without a shaft (left front and right rear motors).

Whatever the situation, the fool-proofing system prevents the propellers from being fitted the wrong way round.  Lock the propellers with the wrench and you're done!

Warning: do not fit four propellers with a hole in the center or the drone will not take off.
