Is an internet connection required to launch a flight plan with Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling?

You will need an internet connection in the following cases:

  • To update the software of Parrot FreeFlight Pro, Pix4Dcapture and the latest version of your drone.

  • To sign up to your Pix4Dcapture account

  • To download a map in Pix4Dcapture

  • To send the pictures taken by the drone to the Pix4D Cloud

  • To login to your Pix4D account

There is no need for an internet connection to transfer images from your drone to your smartphone.

However, you can easily program a flight plan before executing it. This solution is very convenient if you do not have internet at the location of your mission.

  1. Before you go to your mission location, connect to the internet and update your software if necessary.

  2. Register your Pix4Dcapture account to your Pix4D account (only required when using for the first time).

  3. Pre-download the flight map

    - On Android, it is possible to pre-download several missions with their maps and save them.

    - On iOS, it is possible to save the map and flight plan for a mission using the SAVE button.

  4. When on the ground, without an internet connection, you can configure the flight of your drone, take photos and download photos on your smartphone.

  5. When you get back, connect to the internet to send the photos taken by your drone from your smartphone to the cloud. You can also login to your Pix4D account to access 3D models when the image processing has finished.

Information: To send photos to the cloud, make sure you have a good internet connection, such as Wi-Fi or 4G. A poor connection leads to very long transfer times and a lot of errors during image transfer, to the detriment of the quality of the 3D models.
